A safari in Nairobi National Park, only 13 km (8 miles) from the Nairobi City centre. The national park falls  beneath airplanes on their approach to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The park has lions, cheetah, monkeys, buffalos and several species of the savah plains’ game.

Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage

In the park is the Animal Orphanage where sick, wounded and abandoned animals are cared for and rehabilitated into the park, as well as an Educational Centre featuring a Safari Walk.

elephantfeedingClose by is the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where infant elephant and rhino (orphaned because of poaching activities) are cared for and eventually returned to the wild in Tsavo National Park.

The centre is open every morning and visitors can watch the calves bathing in the mud hole and being bottle fed by their human surrogate mothers. 

  • Pick from your hotel at 6:30am and proceed to Nairobi national park for game drives until 10:30am.
  • Proceed for Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage which opens their gates from 11:00am to 1200 noon.

Bomas of Kenya

bomasofkenyaLater be taken to Bomas of Kenya for an insight to the cultural lives of the tribes of kenya.

Bomas is a Swahili word for villages.

Bomas of Kenya is just a few kilometres from the city centre and has numerous homesteads reflecting Kenya’s cocktail of cultures which has been faithfully recreated for visitors to see traditional village life for the Kenyan communities. The greatest excitement of this visit in the afternoon will be a display of traditional dances, music and other folklore traditional songs in a splendid arena.
